Breaking News: Alphonso Davies Diagnosed With Rare Heart Condition

Bayern Munich’s star full back has been diagnosed with a life threatening heart condition that has ruled him out of any further practice and matches in terms of football until treated.

After Davies recently recovered from Covid-19, he has had heart muscle inflammation that has caused a lot of concern in the Munich camp. The most recent match Munich played was against Borussia Mochengalbach who seemingly have Munich’s number as they won again with a 2-1 scoreline.

Bayern boss Nagelsmann commented on Davies yesterday saying, “Yesterday, during our follow-up examination that we do with every player that has had Covid-19, we detected signs of mild myocarditis, i.e. an inflammation of the heart muscle.”

“He has stopped training for now, so he won’t be available to us for the next weeks.”

“This myocarditis isn’t too dramatic based on the ultrasound, but more simply signs of an inflammation. Nevertheless, it needs to heal and that will no doubt take some time.”

There hasn’t been a date yet announced or decided as to when Davies will return but in a situation like this, his health should be the top priority above his game. This year, legendary striker Kun Aguero also retired early after a heart condition and post last year’s EURO cup, Christian Eriksen has been treated differently after his mini heart attack like situation.

With Bayern also getting ready for Champions League competition in February, they would want to check Davies’ condition and try to get him back as soon as possible.

Ronaldo Rejects Anything Below Top 3

The Manchester United Striker Cristiano Ronaldo has acknowledged Manchester’s poor form and current standing at 6th place in the Premier League. The team is also set to face defending La liga Champions Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16, which is a daunting task in itself.

Ronaldo said, “I think to build up good things, sometimes you have to destroy a few things. So why not – new year, new life and I hope that Manchester [United] can be the level that the fans want. They deserve that.”

“We are capable of changing things now. I know the way but I’m not going to mention it here because I don’t think it’s ethical on my part to say that. What I can say is we can do better – all of us. Manchester [United] belongs to important things, so we have to change that.

“I don’t want to be here to be in sixth place, or seventh place, or fifth place. I’m here to try to win, to compete. I think we compete but we are not yet in our best level. But we have a long way to improve and I believe if we change our mind, we can achieve big things.”

“Not easy to be honest. We changed Ole, then [Michael] Carrick [caretaker manager], then this new coach. It’s difficult when you change so much, it’s always tough.”

“It’s always sad and tough. Ole used to play with me before and now he was the coach. A fantastic person. When he left everybody was sad, but it’s part of football. But I’m looking forward to it. We have to work hard, we have to be together as players. We know we are not in the best moment, but I believe with working hard we can achieve important things, even this year.”

Real Madrid Sink Barcelona in Supercopa Thriller

Last night FC Barcelona and Real Madrid faced off against each other for the 281st time in their long and rich rivalry. They faced each other for the first time outside Spain as the match was played in the Saudi Capital of Riyadh.

As expected Real Madrid did not give Barcelona a lot of opportunities and played tremendously well in the 90 minutes to get their 2 goals. Real took the lead both times with a 1-0 and a 2-1 scoreline.

Barcelona were always going to be the chasing side but no one expected so much attacking finesse from the young side as soon as the whistle blew. Barcelona managed to equalise both times in the 90 minutes to send the match into the extra 30 minutes.

However, Barcelona’s defence just couldn’t keep up with Real Madrid’s well Synced attack by the first half of the extra time as Valverde struck the ball into the net to get Real the El Clasico win in Saudi Arabia.

Even with the likes of Luuk de Jong, Araujo, Pedri, Gavi and Ferran Torres, Barcelona just couldn’t match Real Madrid’s well gelled unit to score enough and get the win.

Now Real Madrid await the winner of the second semi finals between Atletico Madrid and Athletic Club to see who they will be facing on Sunday night in Riyadh for the Supercopa de Espana trophy.

The First El Clásico Out of Spain; A Preview

With the El Clasico just hours away as the two sides get ready for this epic encounter. This will be the first ever El Clasico to be played outside of Spain. The match will take place in the ever developing nation of Saudi Arabia in the capital of Riyadh.

The 281st El Clasico will take place tonight with the likes of Fatti and Pedri returning for Barcelona.

The Blaugrana called Pedri and Ferran Torres in separately late yesterday to join the training as Barcelona prepare to take on Real Madrid under new manager Xavi.

Ancelotti on the other hand has come out and said that Barcelona are far from them right now in the La liga and thus, not a spot of worry. Now with the two sides meeting in the semi finals of the Supercopa de Espana in a high stakes match, how much focus will Ancoletti have on his Spanish foes.

The second semi final will take place tomorrow as defending La Liga champions Atletico Madrid take on Athletic Club. The winners of these two matches will go on to face each other in a great final match on Sunday, the 16th of January.

The last time these two sides met, was in the La Liga in October, right before Xavi’s full fledged arrival. Barcelona lost to Real Madrid 1-2 at home as the Blaugrana failed to comprehend the level of game Real had.

Now with the slate clean in a new year and a different competition, Barcelona look to take home the finals spot and eventually the first trophy under the Xavi era.
