India U19 team who entered the final of the U-19 World Cup which is being currently held in the West Indies. The India U19 team defeated Australia U19 by 96 runs on Wednesday to set up the final clash against the strong England team.
Former England skipper Michael Vaughan has praised captain Yash Dhull after India beat Australia to reach the final of the current U19 World Cup on Wednesday. Dhull marked a breathtaking century as India reached the tournament final. The skipper Yash Dhull struck a sublime run a ball 110 and stitched a game-changing 204-run partnership with his deputy Rasheed (94 off 108 balls) to post a formidable 290 for five. With his knock against Australia, Dhull joined an elite list of India U19 captains with a century in the tournament. Before him, Virat Kohli and Unmukt Chanda had achieved the same feat at the U19 World Cup.
“The plan from me and Rasheed was to bat till the end, and it worked. The idea was to bat steadily, not to try too many shots, and to bat past the 40th over. Myself and Rasheed bat well together, we combine well and it showed. Rasheed and me had a good partnership and we had good partnerships lower down as well,” Dhull said at the post match presentation.
India reached its fourth consecutive U-19 World Cup final on Wednesday. And This is the eighth time that four-time champions India have made it to the final of the U-19 World Cup, the most by any team. They will now face England in the final, who defeated Afghanistan in their semi-final clash.
