Conte and Spurs at a New Low After Continuous Defeats

The London side, Tottenham Hotspurs have been in terrible form since the past month. Losing the last 4 out of 5 games in the Premier League. They have now fallen behind in the race for next year’s European qualification and now sit in 8th place.

The coach and manager Antonio Conte has acknowledged the poor form as of late and is willing to make changes but has also come to terms with the realisation that they might not make it to the big leagues next season.

“In the last five games we’ve lost four. This is reality. Not the performance. We lost four of the last five, nobody deserves this situation, this is the reality,” Conte told reporters after the game.

“I came in to try to improve the situation but maybe in this moment, I don’t know. I’m not so good to improve it. It is very frustrating. Working hard, working a lot and trying to get out the best of players. Too honest to close my eyes.

“On Saturday we play another game, it’s the moment to see the situation and make an assessment, really frustrated, not used to seeing these situations. I’m trying to do everything but the situation is not changing.

“In the last five games, we are playing like we are in relegation this is the reality, maybe there is something wrong, I want to take responsibility, if I have that, I’m open for every decision, I want to help Tottenham from first day I arrive. Also to take my salary. It is not right at this moment.”

The Wonder Kid who Rejected Manchester United Twice to Join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

“It is a hard decision when you are young.

“I cannot say it was the right decision, or the wrong decision. It is hard for me to say, but what I experienced in the year after Manchester United.

“I won the cup with Molde and then I got to play in the Premier League.”

It’s hard to make these decisions when you are a teenager who’s being headhunted by the best clubs in the world. However that’s exact;ly what a young Mats Møller Dæhli did 9 years ago when he rejected the red 2 times.

“I went on many trials from 12, 13 until I was 16,” he told MEN Sport. “I think it was four trials. It was really special, I had three very nice years there. It was tough, but I have really good memories and being there on trial and getting signed is an amazing feeling.”

The promising young star started out with Tottenham, trained with Chelsea as well but eventually signed with a regional club in his home country in Norway, Lyn.

At the age of 12 he was talent spotted by scout John Vik, who watched the youngster for a further 10 matches before using his contacts to recommend that United sign the young hopeful before other top sides became aware of his ability.

“I received tips about four extraordinary talents in the Oslo area four years ago. I saw everyone several times and thought Mats stood out already as a 12-year-old in Lyn,” Vik stated.

Vik was not the only Norwegian impressed by his compatriot. All those years after watching Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set up two of United’s five goals against Tottenham, the legendary striker was also well aware of Dæhli.

“I have seen Mats several times before, including at the Statoil Academy in Kristiansund,” Solskjaer said. “In my opinion, he is on a par with the greatest talents in other European levels in his age group. He has made a very good impression in United. They will bet on him.”

The youngster finished the season with the club’s U18 side before he was promoted to the reserve team for the next campaign and excitement grew surrounding the top teenage talent.

Tuchel Admits Chelsea Aren’t Happy

The German coach finally admitted that the blues have lost their way and form and nothing is full of joy at the club anymore.

“(Even) in the reaction of the goal (we scored), you can see that we are tired,” Tuchel told BT Sport. “We are relieved but there is no joy. We look tired, and we are. … You can see we are mentally tired. We need some days off, there’s no other solution. It’s normal that they (Ziyech & Lukaku) talk, it’s normal that they’re not happy.”

The third club in the Premier League currently drew against Brighton yesterday and since the surprising draw, the blues have been in a poorer mood.

In the last 16 matches Chelsea have seemingly only kept a clean sheet in 4 matches in all competitions. This paired with the feud between coach Thomas Tuchel and striker Romelu Lukaku has put the blues in an unsatisfactory mood and playing form.

They prepare to host guests Tottenham Hotspurs on Sunday as they try to claw their way back to a competitive side and fight for the title.
