Australia Legend Shane Warne Dies of Suspected Heart Attack

Australia cricket legend Shane Warne has passed away of a suspected attack in Thailand. He was just 52. Around 7.30 PM India time, the world of cricket lost not just one of its greatest cricketers.

A true artist with a ball in hand, a fierce competitor on the cricket field was died on Friday of a suspected heart attack in Thailand. According to a statement issued by Warne’s management stating that passed away in Thailand of a suspected heart attack. “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” the statement reads.

This is the second devastating news in 24 hours for Australian cricket with fellow great, Rod Marsh, also dying on Friday having suffered a major heart attack last week. Incidentally, Warne had condoled his demise in a tweet this morning.

Warne is regarded as one of the finest leg-spin bowlers of all time. He played 145 Tests and 194 ODIs between 1992 and 2007 and took a combined 1001 wickets during his storied international career. Later he played in the Indian Premier League and other Twenty20 competitions before retiring from all international cricket in 2013 but continued to be involved in the game as a broadcaster.
