Meanwhile, India’s head coach Rahul Dravid’s priceless reaction was captured after a DRS overturned the on-field umpire’s decision during the first T20I against Sri Lanka. The incident took place when Yuzvendra Chahal wrapped Charith Asalanka on his pads and the Sri Lankan batter was given out. Asalanka took the DRS and survived.
The visitors were chasing a mammoth 200-run total in the 1st T20. Chasing the target Sri Lanka had lost a couple of early wickets. Asalanka had tried to sweep the leggie but he couldn’t make a connection and the ball ended up hitting his pads.
Asalanka was given out but he took the DRS. The replay showed that the ball had touched the batter’s bat before hitting the pads. After the umpire gave it not-out, the Indian coach could not believe what he saw and gave a priceless reaction. Asalanka scored a half-century as he remained unbeaten for 53 off 47 deliveries.
