Ngidi said playing under Dhoni’s leadership helped him “grow as a cricketer.”

“So for me, that’s one thing that sticks out in my mind because in a final, to have such a moment like that and to execute the plan that he wanted, really gave me confidence in terms of how to bowl. It just showed me how in tune he is with the game in terms of how he sees it’s going to play out and it played out exactly the way I think he thought it was going to.”

Ngidi also expressed gratitude after being given a chance to play under Dhoni, which helped him tremendously in his career,  “I think the main thing is just the control that he has over the team and on the field, he really does bring a sense of calm. I’ve also learnt a lot more in my time that I’ve been with CSK just under his captaincy in terms of field settings, game plans and how to construct my bowling within an inning. I think from that moment it has really helped me grow as a cricketer,” said Ngidi.

Introducing Cricket Strategies To Winners

A team needs cricket strategies and tactics to win a game. Each team creates their own cricket strategy to defeat the defending team in cricket.

Team members should plan a perfect cricket strategy, depending on the opponent team. Cricket tactics work as a secret weapon to a given player. A team strategizes to eliminate their opponents by either catching out, running out, or throwing a bouncer. Players choose their own cricket strategy to get the best results from the play.

How do cricket strategies differ from cricket tactics?

The cricket strategy is planning the action design to achieve a cricket objective. In a cricket game, there is always uncertainty, and to reduce this, we have to create a proper cricket strategy.

Cricket tactics are also the team’s short action plan for meeting a cricket goal. Tactics could change every match we face because it’s quick team planning based on the current situation.

3 super forces in a cricket team –

  1. Batting
  2. Fielding
  3. Bowling

For a successful match, win the toss

Winning toss plays a significant role in the match. The captain can bat or field first as per match and pitch condition by winning the toss. Winning a toss is the first step towards winning the game. Winning tosses gives you the freedom to strategize your game from match to match.

Every skipper dreams of winning a coin toss for the team. An enormous responsibility as a captain is to choose the right option. The captain should be familiar with all cricket strategies and tactics to win the game.

Be ready before the toss session, be calm and discuss strategy and tactics with team members. As you know, winning the toss may change the game plan.

Weather Condition

Bad weather may ruin your game. A captain should customise plans according to weather conditions. It is always better to have cricket strategies and tactics under weather conditions.

Rainfall can damage the pitch and disrupt your game. Playing on lousy ground is a difficult job. With a wet pitch, batsmen may face the challenge of playing against a bowler. So, weather conditions play an important role in cricket. You can’t control the weather, but you can change your cricket strategy, depending on the weather.

Weather conditions are hard to judge. A captain must understand whether it will help you win the game and make the best cricket strategies and tactics.

Change the cricket strategy as per the cricket format.

There are three formats in cricket:

  1. T-20
  2. 1-day cricket
  3. Test cricket

Field positioning matters a lot

A good position on the field may put pressure on good batsmen. Place fielders in the catching position to put pressure on the batsmen. Appropriate field settings can make a runner out, so it helps to control the runs marked by the opposition team.

You can place the attacking field to create pressure on the batsman. For example, leg slip, gully etc. Set the defensive area to save runs in the game. A defensive field such as deep square leg, deep cover, long on, long off etc.

There is an enormous difference in the areas of attack and defence. The attacking field is used to block runs. Pick the right bowlers for a specific position on the field. Modify cricket tactics based on match location.

Conclusion

A captain is responsible for changing cricket tactics, depending on the cricket format. T-20 is limited over games, and people love to watch. The captain should be faster to modify it depending on the game format. One-day and test cricket comes with various cricket strategies because it changes with the game format.

Introducing Cricket Guide To Crazy Fans

Cricket is about scoring more runs than your opponent. There are three variants of the game (Test, 1 Day and 20-20), and each gives a particular schedule in which the game has to be finished.

The goal is to remove the opposing team for as few runs as possible or limit it to a few runs in the allotted time. Once a team has lost all its wickets or the time allocated has elapsed, the teams swap roles.

Players Composition

Each team is divided into 11 players. These 11 players will play different roles: batsmen, bowlers, fielders and wicket keepers. Whereas each player will have a specialist role.

The ball will be bowled by a player from one side while the batsman attempts to hit the ball on the other side.

The colour of the cricket ball will be either red (test match) or white (one-day game).

Scoring

A run happens when a batsman hits the ball with his bat, and the two batsmen at the wickets successfully run to the other end. A batsman can run as many times as they wish before being declared out.

Four runs are given if the ball crosses the boundary rope after it has pitched at least once from leaving the bat. If the ball flies over the boundary rope without pitching, then six runs are given to the batting team.

Runs will also be added when the bowler bowls a no-ball, a bye, a wide delivery and a leg bye.

Cricket Rules and Regulations

  • Each team has eleven players.
  • The bowler must bowl six proper deliveries to complete an over.
  • A batsman can be given out by either being stumped, handling ball, bowled, timed out, leg before wicket (LBW), caught, hit wicket, obstruction (the batsmen purposely prevents the fielder from getting the ball) and hit the ball twice.
  • Test cricket is played over five days, where each playing team has 2 innings (or 2 chances to bat).
  • After that, the scores are added, and the team with the most runs after each innings is the winner.
  • One day cricket is played for 50 overs. Each playing team gets 50 overs to bat and bowl before changing and doing the previous discipline. The team with the highest score at the end of the game wins.
  • The fielding team must have one separate wicket-keeper who will be the only person allowed to wear gloves and pads on the match. At the opposite end, the wicket-keeper stands and catches the ball.
