All participating franchises have finally rebuilt their team for the next edition of the Marquee Tournament, scheduled for March 27th. current champion Chennai Super Kings also bought not only many old players in his team but also some new players.

Chennai Super Kings have won the IPL title four times. In all the seasons they has played, 2020 ,the only time it has happened is that they has not been able to reach the playoffs. This shows the strength and consistency of this team. This time too the team will be among the contenders for the title.

Meanwhile, since the end of the mega auction, experts from all around the world have been hard at work dissecting each team and deciding who has assembled the best squad.  However a cricket fan asked the England and Wales Cricket Board a question on social media as to which is the strongest team in Bangalore after the two-day auction process. Deepak Chahar wanted lesser than Rs 14 crore after being bought back by CSK

India all-rounder Deepak Chahar, was among the top picks on Indian Premier League mega auction Day 1. Chahar on Saturday got acquired by CSK for Rs 14 crores in the mega auction. For Chahar, a bidding war took place between CSK and Rajasthan Royals and the pacer ultimately went to Chennai.

Chahar had been part of the CSK set-up, a Powerplay specialist. He swings the balls, which not many Indian pacers do in modern-day cricket. His batting pyrotechnics lower down the order adds value to his game.

“We (Indian team) were travelling from Ahmedabad to Kolkata. We were watching the auction on the phone, the whole team was watching it. Everyone was asking ‘kitna ho gaya?’ When I reached till Rs 14 crore, I was thinking ‘I should not go for more than this’ because if CSK pulled out after that, I would have been very sad. I wanted to play for CSK because I can’t imagine myself playing for any other colour.

“At one time, I thought it was too much. As a CSK player, I also want the team to build a good team and we can buy some other players.” Chahar told Star Sports.

Speaking about his reunion with Dhoni and the management staff of the Chennai-based franchise, Chahar said, “I am really happy to be back in Chennai Super Kings. I don’t think there will be any difference. When I go back, I will be seeing the same faces over the last four years, maybe over the last six years because I was with the Pune side and half the players were there. I could not have asked for a better auction than this,” .

I have never spoken about all this to Mahi bhai or the CSK management (about retention). They just assured me that in 2018, I met Kasi sir and Srinivasan sir and they told me that I was going to play for Yellow always.I took his word that day and after that, I have never spoken about retention or anything. Before the auction also, I didn’t speak anything. I knew that CSK would pick me,” he added.

“It’s very hard for me to answer this question because it will be a very cliched answer. I’ll try and do everything that I can, not only to do well for the franchisee I play for but for myself also. Look, it’s great if I can play for CSK. I’m from Chennai. But at the end of the day, what’s important for me is whichever team that I get to play in, it will be an absolute honor because as I said, all this practice that I’ve been doing these days is to try and do well in a tournament like the IPL”, Karthik said.

“Again I’ve said it before, it depends on BCCI. With two new teams coming in, we have to decide what is good for CSK. It’s not about me being there in top-three or four. It’s about making a strong core to ensure the franchise doesn’t suffer. The core group, we have to have a hard look to see who can contribute for the next 10 years,” Dhoni told host broadcaster.

IPL 2022: Ravindra Jadeja posts a sarcastic reply to Star Sports

IPL 2022 will be an exciting season with the addition of two new teams. And the IPL 2022 mega auction is not too far away and the teams have their strategies in place. Star Sports Tamil tweeted to ask CSK fans “Preparations for the auction have begun. Many crazy stars are waiting. Who has a place in your Chennai IPL Team XI? “Comment on #DearViewers,” the tweet read.

The all-rounder responded to a tweet and wrote, “No 8 too early for me ! Put me @ 11.” With this, he posted a couple of laughing emojis which simply meant that he was being sarcastic.

Ngidi said playing under Dhoni’s leadership helped him “grow as a cricketer.”

South African bowler Lungi Ngidi stated that he has grown as a cricketer after playing for Chennai Super Kings under MS Dhoni in the Indian Premier League.

Ngidi made his IPL debut for Chennai Super Kings in 2018. Speaking about CSK Lungi Ngidi revealed an incident where Dhoni’s brilliance got him a wicket in the IPL 2018 final. “It was the final against the Sunrisers in 2018, we hadn’t discussed a certain field placement but he automatically just changed my field and with that field, within a couple of balls, we got a wicket to the fielder that he had moved, ” Ngidi told.

“So for me, that’s one thing that sticks out in my mind because in a final, to have such a moment like that and to execute the plan that he wanted, really gave me confidence in terms of how to bowl. It just showed me how in tune he is with the game in terms of how he sees it’s going to play out and it played out exactly the way I think he thought it was going to.”

Ngidi also expressed gratitude after being given a chance to play under Dhoni, which helped him tremendously in his career,  “I think the main thing is just the control that he has over the team and on the field, he really does bring a sense of calm. I’ve also learnt a lot more in my time that I’ve been with CSK just under his captaincy in terms of field settings, game plans and how to construct my bowling within an inning. I think from that moment it has really helped me grow as a cricketer,” said Ngidi.
