RCB praises massage therapist Navneeta Gautam on Women’s Day, however fans ask ‘where is Kyle Jamieson’

The IPL 2022 season will get underway on March 26 with defending champions Chennai Super Kings taking on Kolkata Knight Riders. Meanwhile RCB were all set to announce the name of their captain on March 8, they have now decided to delay the announcement. In a tweet, the franchise has stated that they will be celebrating fourteen years of the team on 12th March at the Museum Cross Road in Church Street.

Royal Challengers Bangalore on Tuesday posted a message to praise of their women employees on Woman’s day which included the Indian Premier League team’s massage therapist Navnita Gautam as well. Notably Navnita joined RCB as a sports massage therapist in 2019 and she was then the first and only female to be a part of the support staff of any of the IPL teams.

“To all the women out there, you are the real superheroes! Wish you a very Happy Women’s Day!” RCB wrote on their social media handle. However fans fans immediately notice Navnita in the set of pictures and hilariously asked ‘where’s Kyle Jamieson’?. Navnita and Kyle Jamieson were became the focal point of discussion in the cricket fraternity after a picture of him from the match went viral on social media. In the viral snap, was seen smiling at a lady sitting in the RCB dugout.

Meanwhile, for the last two consecutive seasons, Royal Challengers Bangalore have managed to reach the playoffs in IPL. However, they would be disappointed to not have reached the final on either occasion. Ahead of a new season, AB de Villiers won’t be available for them. Under Virat Kohli, the Bengaluru-based franchise made the playoffs thrice in 2015, 2020, and 2021 editions respectively, and went on to finish as the runners-up in the 2016 season after losing the decider to southern rivals Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunil Gavaskar has picked Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell as Royal Challengers Bangalore’s new captain

Former India openers Sunil Gavaskar believes Glenn Maxwell is the most suitable candidate to be RCB’s new skipper. Notably, Royal Challengers Bangalore have made some really exciting buys in the just-concluded IPL 2022 mega auction. Meanwhile, RCB are yet to name their captain.

In the auction, RCB found two names in Faf du Plessis and Dinesh Karthik, who could become the next captain of the team in IPL 2022. However, Sunil Gavaskar has picked Australian all-rounder Maxwell to lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Gavaskar feels giving Maxwell the additional responsibility will make him a better player and see him score more runs.

In a conversation with Sports Talk Gavaskar said ” “I think if Glenn Maxwell is given the responsibility then a different kind of Maxwell will be seen in IPL. Last year he batted brilliantly probably keeping the mega auction in mind, but he was retained after that, which was good, I guess, for him.”

“We have often seen that players who bat well but score 30-40 runs quickly and get out without getting the job done- especially when suppose the team requires 70 or 80 runs more. But when these same players are given a responsibility then they played well showing better shot selection. So if Maxwell is given the captaincy, he will score more and play better,” added Gavaskar.

Meanwhile, RCB’s Director Mike Hesson revealed his thoughts on the talks about Du Plessis leading the side, following Day 1’s action at the auction.Mike Hesson said, ‘We have not had that discussion yet. We have three great leaders now in the form of Maxwell, Virat, and Faf du Plessis. We are really happy with those three leaders, we also have Josh Hazlewood as a leader from a bowling point of view. So we are happy with the group, we will make a decision regarding captaincy after the auction’.

IPL 2022: Harbhajan Singh feels Kohli still remains the best man to lead RCB

Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh believes Virat Kohli is the best man to lead Royal Challengers Bangalore in the upcoming season. Notably, Kohli stepped down as RCB captain after IPL 2021, bringing an end to his 8-year-tenure as skipper without winning a title in the premier T20 competition.

Ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction, Harbhajan Singh feels Kohli still remains the best man to lead RCB. “Despite having many big names, RCB is a team who is yet to lift the title. AB de Villiers won’t play this season and Kohli has stepped down from captaincy… so they need to find a captain now. Among Indians, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan are the two names who can efficiently lead the team,” Harbhajan said while speaking on his YouTube channel.

“Shreyas has already shown his captaincy prowess while leading the Delhi franchise. But I think Kohli will have to don the captaincy hat again. RCB won’t get a better leader than him. RCB is making a new team and they will search for a good leader. But does Kohli want to take up the role? It will be a big challenge but I won’t be surprised if he agrees to be the captain for the next 1-2 years,” Harbhajan added.

Harbhajan also mentioned David Warner and Aaron Finch’s name for the leadership role. “Talking about overseas options, David Warner is the best pick. He will captain the side and score runs as well. Aaron Finch is also a player who can lead the team. He may have not performed exceptionally well with the bat but RCB can rope him as a captain. RCB can also look for Eoin Morgan. I’ve played under Morgan in Kolkata Knight Riders and he’s got a composed attitude. But according to me, Kohli’s return to captaincy is the best option for Bangalore,” Harbhajan further said.

IPL 2022 : RCB to target Jason Holder, Ambati Rayudu and Riyan Parag in the Mega Auction

West Indies all-rounders Jason Holder, could become one of the most expensive players in the history of the Indian Premier League. The IPL 2022 mega auction hardly a few days away. All ten franchises would be looking forward to making few important addition to their side.

In one such case, as per report, that Jason Holder is being sought by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and they are willing to dole out big bucks. With a purse of Rs. 57 Crore, RCB is looking to buy West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder.  RCB are willing to pay up to INR 12 Cr for the 30-year-old. Holder, who played for Sunrisers Hyderabad has grown as a T20 player over the last couple of years. Recently, he took a double hat-trick to help West Indies seal a thrilling series victory against England at home.

The sources further told that RCB will also keep Ambati Rayudu and Riyan Parag on its radar. They are one of the main targets for the franchise. Although age is not on Rayudu’s side, he is a proven performer and the franchise has reserved 8 Cr for him. It will be interesting to watch RCB’s auction strategy. The franchise has to bring in a potential captaincy candidate besides making a formidable squad that can be sustained for at least three years of the IPL.

“For Holder they have reserved Rs 12 crore and another Rs 8 crore for Rayudu and Rs 7 crore for Parag. If they spend about Rs 27 crore on these players, they would have another Rs 28 crore left over. The core with Kohli, Maxwell, Siraj, Holder, Rayudu and Parag is established. Let’s hope they can get two of the preferred three‘ a source close to RCB was quoted
